We’re in the process of adopting two children from Ethiopia to add to our family. Our paperwork is in Ethiopia now (as of April 2010) and, while we wait, we need to raise about $20,000 to cover the remaining expenses. You can help–here’s how:

Tax-deductible donation through Lifesong

Lifesong for Orphans has provided a way for donors to give toward our adoption and have their donations be tax-deductible.  They have also offered us a matching grant so that anything donated between now and June 30, 2010 will be matched up to $2000 by Lifesong! So, for example, if you give $10 for a puzzle piece, you really give $20!  (In following IRS guidelines, your donation is to Lifesong which retains full discretion over its use, but intends to honor the donor’s suggested use.)  UPDATE (15 Oct 2010): Thanks to generous friends and family, we have reached the $2000 matching limit set by Lifesong.  Thank you!  Any contributions from this point forward are tax-deductible for donors but will not be matched by Lifesong.

Please make checks out to Lifesong for Orphans with “preference Gowin #1206 adoption” in the memo and send them to:

Buy coffee

For those who love coffee (and, seriously, who doesn’t?), we have an affiliate partnership with Just Love Coffee. Just Love assists adoptive families by offering customers excellent Fair Trade coffees imported from around the world and sharing a portion of the proceeds with partner families. Click through to purchase coffee from our store or to learn more about Just Love Coffee.

Buy a puzzle piece

We have purchased a puzzle of Africa and for every $10 donated, we will write your name on the back of a puzzle piece. Our kids have purchased the first pieces from their own savings, which you can see below. We will eventually frame it so that our kids can know how many people have given graciously to get them home! You can follow the progress on our website. Purchase the puzzle piece through PayPal here on our website (not tax-deductible), or you can send a check to Lifesong which is tax-deductible (see above).  UPDATE (15 Oct 2010): the puzzle is finished!  If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation, please consider donating through Lifesong.

Thank you for prayerfully considering partnering with us on this journey!
